Charles Raymond Deis, 93, of KCMO went to be with the Lord April 6, 2013. He was born June 23, 1919 in Gilliam, MO, the son of Emil and Lellia Deis. Charles graduated from Gilliam Public Schools and attended Missouri Valley College. He was united in marriage to Helen A. Collins on September 6, 1942. He served during the World War II in the Army Air Corps, African and European Theaters. He was Honorable Discharged as a Captain, serving from June 1942 to December 1945. He then graduated from Kansas University. Charles was employed at General Motors Fairfax Plant as an Industrial Engineer and retired after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Gashland Presbyterian Church since 1955 and served on the Board of Trustees and as an Elder. He also participated in Boy Scouts as a Leader. Charles is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lee Bruhardt of Stanton, IL. He is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home; three sons, Charles, Gregory and James and their families of the Kansas City area; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, April 10th at Gashland Presbyterian Church located at 8029 N. Oak Street, KCMO 64118, with visitation one hour prior to services. His burial will follow at Mount Moriah Terrace Park. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to the Gashland Presbyterian Church's Building Fund.
