Chaluey "Chal" Smith

Chaluey M. "Chal" Smith, 81, of Platte City, passed away April 22, 2021.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2pm at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155.

Chal was born on November 18, 1939 in Chainat, Thailand. She moved to Platte City in 1969, where spent the rest of her life.  She enjoyed gardening and showing off her cooking skills. Chal worked at International Paper and was a cook at the Marriott and the Argosy Casino. She kept busy with her family and took pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Chal was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her children: Jeff (Brenda) Keskeaw, Janie (Kevin) Swearngin, and Jamie (Debbie) Keskeaw; grandchildren: Talia Nicole Keskeaw, Kenneth Scott (Kayla) Swearngin, and Kendra Ashley Swearngin; great-grandchildren: Leah Elizabeth Cocayne, Hunter Joseph Cocayne, and Brooklyn Catherine Swearngin; and many special friends and extended family members.
