Carol Shortino

January 31, 1937 — October 3, 2016

Carol A. Shortino, 79, of Kansas City, MO passed away October 3, 2016. She was born January 31, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to the late Charles Leslie and Josephine G. (Siron) Steele.
Carol had a love for many things, but most importantly, her family. She loved to spend as much time as she could with them; especially during the holidays. Carol loved to travel, shop and read. She could always be found eating out with her girlfriends, trying the latest restaurant or enjoying their favorite place.
In her spare time, Carol enjoyed ceramics, quilting, bowling knitting and fishing. She enjoyed watching the Soaps on midday TV and politics on Fox News channel during the evening. She especially enjoyed and loved to watch Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings as well as the Chiefs during the afternoon. And when all else failed, she would turn on golf.
Carol was a Tax preparer for H&R Block for the past 22 plus years. She completed all requirements and earned her certificate as a Master Tax Preparer. She continued to attend classes regularly, even up until this last August with the hopes of returning this upcoming Tax season.
Carol is preceded in death by her older brother, Charles L. Steele, Jr. and Frank Shortino.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Frank Shortino, Jr., Teresa L. Shortino, Susan A. Shortino; grandchildren, Ross Shortino, Samuel Shortino; brother, Richard Lee Steele and many friends, extended family members and co-workers.
