Carol L. Gardner, 67, of Kansas City, MO went to rest in peace with her son Thad Alexander Gardner surrounded by her family on August 20, 2017. She was born September 24, 1949 in St. Paul, Nebraska to the late Albert Otto Peterson and Ruby Maxine Wagner.
Carol graduated from Grand Island Sr. High in 1968 and went on to obtain her cosmetology license. Shortly after graduating from high school, Carol married her husband Steve Charles Gardner. In December 2017 they would have celebrated their 49th Anniversary. Over the years, she worked as a beautician and as a secretary. Carol was a wonderful wife and mother, and grandmother who kept her household running smoothly. She enjoyed going to garage sales, crafting projects and finding those special Precious Moments for her collection.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her son, Thad Alexander Gardner.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Steve Charles; son, Steve Jayson Gardner, wife Rachel, and their children; Ellie, Zach, Hazel; son, Eric Shawn Gardner, wife CoCo; and their girls; Savannah, Jaydan and sisters, Marcia Lemmerman of Grand Island, NE and Marion Meadearis of Broken Arrow, OK.
Graveside services will be Sat. Sept. 16, 2017 at 10:30 AM in Terrace Park Cemetery, 801 NW 108th St, KCMO. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Newmark Care Center, 1121 N. Nashua Dr., KC, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Williams Syndrome Association, in honor of Carol L Gardner.
