Carolyn Estes, resident of Blue Springs, was a resilient and strong soul who bid farewell to this world at the age of 78. Born on June 29, 1945, in Joplin, MO, Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of strength and unwavering spirit.
Her adventurous spirit led her across the United States, navigating highways and byways as she co-piloted a semi-truck with her husband, Jerry. They found solace living in their lakeside home as well as living within the city limits of Joplin for many years.
In her spare time she loved dancing, playing card games, and baking cookies and chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, which her friends enjoyed benefiting from. She was an avid fan of watching Kansas City Chiefs football and her favorite TV show, Longmire.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Pickard and Goldie Eure; siblings, Russell Pickard, Sherry Bennett, and Bobby Simms; and her beloved husband, Jerry Estes.
She is survived by her sister, Lorraine (James) Billingsley; nieces Pam Bellmonte and Debbie Nesbitt; nephews Rodney and Russell D. Pickard and Paul Billingsley; numerous great nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, her beloved wiener dog, Raffie.
Carolyn will be laid to rest at Terrace Park Cemetery.
