Caden James Wekamp

Caden James Wekamp, 16, son of James and Rachel Wekamp entered into heaven on April 23, 2024. Though Caden faced significant challenges due to his limitations, his fighting spirit and unwavering courage touched the lives of all who knew him.

In his passing, Caden leaves behind his parents as listed, his siblings; Josie and Luke Wekamp, Hannah (Brennan) Whisenand, nieces; Mylah and Journey Whisenand, grandparents; Ron (Denise) Miller, Laurie Munson, Aunts and Uncles; Barb (Gary) Sharp, Adrienne (Toby) Stephens, Chuck Joe (Penny) Wekamp, along with his lifelong friend and number one fan; Robin "Rob Rob" Mulnix and numerous cousins.

Caden is now dancing in the sky with his grandparents; Cory Lee Sarvis and Janice & Buck Wekamp.

 Caden's journey was not an easy one, Yet, in his silent strength, he taught us the true meaning of courage and the power of an unspoken bond. His ability to communicate love and joy without words was a gift that deeply impacted his family, friends, and caregivers.

His life was a testament to the human spirit's capacity to inspire and uplift, even in the absence of traditional means of expression. Caden's legacy is one of love, perseverance, and the profound influence one individual can have on everyone that knew him. As we say our farewells to Caden, we hold onto the lessons he imparted through his remarkable life. We find comfort in knowing that his struggles are over and that he is now at peace. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Children's Mercy Hospital, an organization to support individuals with similar challenges as Caden's.

Rest in peace, dear Caden. Your strength and courage will forever be an inspiration to us all.
