C.A. Stratman MD

C.A. Stratman MD “Art”, 85, of Kansas City, MO died Monday, November 6, 2017. He was born February 17, 1932 in Omaha, NE to the late Charles and Hattie (Berster) Stratman,

Art graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in 1959. He specialized in Family practice in the Northland from 1967-1990; he served on the staff at NKC Hospital during this time and was the Medical Staff President from 1981-1982.  He joined the Federal Bureau of Prisons as Medical Officer from 1990-2002.  After retirement, he continued to work part time as a physician until 2015. He proudly served in U.S. Army earning the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was a parishioner at St. Therese Catholic church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is remembered by his family as a man of many talents, caring and faithful who loved to travel having visited all seven continents.  He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was the loving husband of 60 years to Janice; dear dad of Chuck (the late Joy) Stratman, Dan (Cyndi) Stratman, Phil (Kathy) Stratman, Paul (Jana) Stratman, Tom Stratman, Mary (the late Mark) Truvillion and daughter-in-law Mary Helen Stratman. Cherished grandpa of 17 and G-Gpa of 20; dear uncle and friend to many.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2-4 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Therese Parish, 7207 MO-9, Kansas City, MO 64152. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Therese Parish.  Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
