Brigitte Anne Foley, 85, of Smithville, Missouri passed away on August 1, 2019. Brigitte was born on April 25, 1934 in the small resort town of Baden-Baden, Germany to Wilhelm and Maria Mörlock. As a young adult she left Germany and moved to Paris, France where she worked at a TV station, before moving to Kansas City, Missouri in May of 1957. She began working as a unit secretary at St. Mary’s Hospital and then at Research Medical Hospital until she retired after 30 years. Brigitte married John P. Foley, on August 28, 1965 and from that union they had three children. Family was always most important to her, but she also loved animals and flowers. She was known for her impressive brightly colored flower gardens. She was also known for her fun colorful personality and her strong desire to help and care for others, which has inspired many to follow in her footsteps. Brigitte will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Jeanette Mormino, Nicole (Richard) Mauton, and John M. (Glenda) Foley; grandchildren, John Mormino, Travis (Bethany) Mauton, Samantha (Derek) Fawcett, Nick (Whitney) Foley and Chris Foley; great grandchildren; Joshua, Rosaria, Cecilia, and Elijah Mormino, Maya and Amelia Fawcett, Amos Mauton, and Ella Foley. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 25 years, John, and great grandchild, Gabriel Fawcett .
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 11:00am at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
