Brian J. Hollingsworth, born on July 18, 1973, departed this life on February 16, 2025. He lived a full and vibrant life, marked by a deep connection to his family, a successful career, and a passion for collecting.
Brian dedicated 22 years to his work as an insurance adjuster with Farmers Insurance. His professional path also led him through the realms of entertainment, having worked with E! Entertainment and the Howard Stern Show. Beyond his traditional career, he embraced his entrepreneurial spirit through his E-Bay store, Tall Man Comics, where he shared his love for collectibles with the world.
A graduate of Park Hill High School, Brian furthered his education at Truman University, ultimately earning a bachelor’s degree. He was known for his fantastic sense of humor and his caring, generous soul. Those who knew him often noted that he had a mischievous side, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. Brian was meticulous in how he collected and maintained his comic books and other treasures, demonstrating his passion and dedication to the craft of collecting.
Family was the cornerstone of Brian's life. He cherished many meaningful trips with his loved ones and held a special bond with his twin sister, Jana, whom he loved dearly. His devotion to his mother exemplified the profound relationships he cultivated, emphasizing his role as a loving son. Brian possessed an extraordinary ability to find the good in everyone, a trait that endeared him to all who met him.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held on March 1, 2025, at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. The service will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at noon, providing family and friends the opportunity to come together to honor and remember a man whose life touched so many.
Brian J. Hollingsworth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of laughter, love, and connection will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Rick and Elaine Hollingsworth; grandparents, Rex and Ruth Robbins, and Nelda and Jack Hollingsworth.
He is survived by his sister Jana (David) Herbert; nieces, Sydney (Salem) DeMack, and Jordan Richardson; nephew; Trent Richardson; great nephew, Eli DeMack; aunt’s, Elise (Kevin) Fisher; Elizabeth (Everett) Easley; along with many cousins and dear friends.
