Brenda G. Elder, 65, of Gladstone, MO passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born on March 28, 1952 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Oakley and Violet (Harris) Elder.
Brenda grew up in Gladstone, MO and graduated from Oak Park High School. She did office work for several businesses in the area over the years and currently was working for Traditional Logistics and Cartage.
Brenda’s favorite things to do when she was not working were spending time with her great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Mason. They loved spending time with their nanny. Her greatest joy was when they were around. She was also an avid sports fan; watching the Royals and the Chiefs.
She leaves behind one daughter, Rowlanda Peterson; 3 grandchildren, Mercedes Peterson, Austin George and Cheyenne George and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Mason. She also leaves behind her mother, Violet Elder of Gladstone, MO; brother, Roger (Lisa) Elder of Kearney, MO; brother, David (Lynne) Elder of Holden, MO; sister, Debra Brewer of Kansas City, MO and brother, Ron (Barb) Elder of Kansas City, MO. Plus she leaves behind her best friend, Francie O’Rear along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Oakley Elder and brother-in-law, Jim Brewer.
A visitation will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home in Kansas City, MO from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday, May 3, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and/or to a fund that will be set up at a local bank in order to help with final expenses. Please check back at a later date for bank information.
