Our family is saddened by the unexpected loss of our loved daughter, granddaughter, sister, and niece, Breanne Taylor McFarland. Breanne left her family on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Breanne was born on May 28, 1994, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Breanne is survived by her mother, Cara M. McFarland of Kansas City, Missouri; her stepfather, Scott Curtiss of Gladstone, Missouri; her sisters Malaina J. Curtiss and Gracie S. Curtiss of Gladstone, Missouri; her stepbrother, Derek Curtiss of Gladstone, Missouri; her grandparents, Maggie and Curt Wise of Gladstone, Missouri, Debi and Steve (deceased) McFarland, of Kearney, Missouri, and Margaret and Doyle Medlock of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by her Uncle Chris and Aunt Melissa McFarland and their children Morgan, Cooper, and Cruise of Liberty, Missouri; and her Aunt Camry Wise of Liberty, Missouri; Aunt Lindsay and Uncle Adam Nichols and their daughter, Aspen, of Denver, Colorado; and Uncle Matthew and Aunt Melissa Barber and their children Jordynn, Maverick, and Riley, of Kearney, Missouri.
During her elementary and middle school years she was an “A” student. In high school she participated in volleyball and track and field as a hurdle jumper. Breanne graduated from Oak Park High School in 2013. Breanne attended Juvenile Diabetes summer camp for several years. She participated in fund raising activities for the Juvenile Diabetes Association to help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.
Breanne enjoyed spending time with her Great Grandparents, Cam and Dolores Jury. Breanne loved the annual “girls’ weekend” at the lake house in the Ozarks with her sisters, Malaina and Gracie, her stepsister, Olivia, and her cousin, Morgan. She enjoyed fishing, boating, and socializing with friends and relatives.
Breanne was an animal lover. When Brea was young her favorite pet was her cat, Miss Piggy. She enjoyed visiting her friend’s ranch and riding her favorite horse, Big Red. In her last few years, her best friend was her dog, Shatto. He was her protector.
Breanne, your family and friends will remember you every day and missing you will be a heartache that will never go away. We loved you so much.
