Blanche M. Harris, age 88, of Kansas City, Mo. passed away Monday, April 13, 2015. She was born to Victor and Thelma (Jenne) Bertsch on May 9, 1926. Blanche graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1943. After graduating, she married John P. Filger in 1944 and had 2 children, Carolyn Marlow and Kathi Rule. In 1968, she remarried Wayne Harris. Several years were spent at Weatherby Lake where they loved time on the pontoon boat with their many friends. Her occupations ranged from clerical work to owning the Cellar Bar and the Reef to working at the Corner Cafe. Her main loves were spending time with the Lord, her family and friends. No words can describe the loss of this wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Blanche is survived by her daughter Kathi and husband Ed Rule, her grandchildren Lesli and husband Stan Shields, Stephanie Marlow, Stacy Calvert, Jason Rule and wife Julie, Jennifer Rule, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Proceeded in death by her husband Wayne Harris, sister Barbara Thurman and daughter Carolyn Marlow.
Visitation will be held at the Terrace Park Funeral Home, 169 Hwy. & Shoal Creek Prkwy., on Saturday, April 18th 2015 at 1pm followed by the funeral service at 2pm. Burial in Terrace Park Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to TerraceParkFuneral.com.
