Blake Alex Gresham of Smithville, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2012.  He was born October 8, 1993 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was a proud graduate (one year early) of Smithville High School in 2011 where he played football and was beloved by many dear friends, classmates, and teachers.  Upon his graduation, Blake went to work for the Clay County Parks and Recreation Department for two years and later for GT Tow, which is a renowned towing and recovery business in Smithville owned by Blake's best friends: his parents.  Blake was born and raised in the tow business and quickly developed a devoted following of customers and colleagues.  Blake never met a stranger and his infectious smile will be forever missed.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Shonna Jo, his uncle Lester Gresham, his great grandmother Goldie Cockrum, and his great grandfather Glendle Davis.  He is survived by his parents James and Amy Gresham, his sister and number one fan, Kelsie, his "brother" Bobby Boehm, grandmother Debbie King, grandparents Harold and Loraine Gresham and Charles and Doris Cockrum, great-grandparents Bill and Betty Stephens and Macil Sigmon, uncles Jason Cockrum and Chad King (Becky), aunt Barbara Flores, his girlfriend and constant companion Alyssa Nauss, and many dear coworkers and friends. The family would like to thank all of their friends and family for their overwhelming show of support during this difficult time.  Visitation will be on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Church in Liberty, Missouri followed by a funeral at the same location on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to "Move Over for Blake," c/o BankLiberty, P.O. Box 1158, Platte City, Missouri 64079, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising public safety awareness for towers and other emergency personnel on the roadways. We love you, Blake.
