WILLIAM J. SHARP
Bill Sharp, 79, of Gladstone, MO passed away March 5, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born March 20, 1936 in Mound City, MO to Harold Bradford and Julia Mae (King) Sharp.

Bill joined the Air Force and served from 1955-1959. He was stationed at Yukota Air Force Base in Japan, and Amarillo, Texas. He worked in Kansas City for Braniff Airlines as a Fueler, and later Allied Aviation, then retired in 1992.  He met Marcia Mueller, and on April 30, 1966 they were married in Arlington Heights, Illinois. They were blessed with two daughters, and he was a loving husband and father.

Bill loved to meet people and find a connection with them.  He was known for his outgoing nature and ability to make everyone he met feel important.  In his youth he loved to play basketball, and later enjoyed playing softball and fishing with neighbors at Lake Waukomis.  In the last few years he became a grandfather and enjoyed watching the boys grow.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Charlene Botts, of Oakland, CA; Helen Jean Smith, of Mound City, MO; brother, Robert Sharp, of Lee’s Summit, MO; and some of his nephews and nieces.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of almost 50 years, Marcia; daughters, Mandy Sharp and Joy (Kevin) Colvin and grandsons, Kolter and Jett Colvin.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 9-11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Care Hospice House, www.kchospice.org/donate-northcare.
