Bill Davies of Gladstone passed away at NKC Hospice House on April 9, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jess and Grace Northington; one, brother, Bob; one sister, Betty and two sons, Brent and David Peacher. He is survived by his wife Alta M. (Stephens) Davies; sons, Steve (Diane), Kevin (Maggie) and daughter, Debby (Chuck); sister, Shirley (Bob);18 grandchildren, Kim (Greg), Becky (Juan), Dawn (Jon), Debi, Brian, Brent, ZaiDee, Bruce, Michelle (John), Camille, Lea, Quinn (Amber), Gabby, Jillian, Bradley, Brooke, Meghan and Calland; 8 great grandchildren, Taylor, Lukas, Isaac, Ashley, Payton, Jaxon, Carson J. and Carson and many nieces and nephews.Bill was born July 20, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day with the 635th Tank Destroyer BN. He was at the Battle of the Bulge, Ardennes and Battle of Hurgen Forest before returning to the States. He was called back up to fight in Korea where he received the Silver Star. Upon his return he started working at Ford Motor Company and retired in 1985 as an Inspector.He was an avid fisherman, loved camping and spending time with his family. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
