Bill Carter, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 September 1, 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri. He led a life marked by love and faith.

Bill shared many years married to his cherished wife Tjwana prior to her passing. They shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Together they raised a family and built memories to treasure for a lifetime. Bill was always at the forefront of his children’s lives involved in all their activities. He dedicated his time and energy to their growth and happiness.

Bill was a man of faith and was guided by his strong principles and devotion. He spent 43 years as a truck driver. He was a hard-working man who took great pride in providing for his family. Bill was also known for his love of dogs, finding joy and companionship in his furry friends throughout his life.

Bill was a respected army veteran, and felt it was an honor to have served his country.

He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, integrity, and love. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Bill will always be remembered as a great husband, father, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Carter; his beloved wife, Tjwana Carter; daughter Katherine Carter; sisters Virginia Finley, Betty Brillhart, Marguerite Carter, and Kathleen Keen; and brother Robert Carter.

He is survived by his son: Bob Carter (Sue Smith), granddaughter Cameron Carter, as well as many other family and friends.

Services to honor Bill’s life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery Lakeside Chapel on September 10, 2024 with a visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 followed by funeral service at 2:00.  Graveside directly following.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to The Humane Society at Hsgkc.org.
