Beverly A. Bastel, of Platte City, MO, age 72 passed away January 12, 2017, at home. She was born on July 29, 1944 in St. Joseph, MO to the late Milton and Elizabeth (Hickok) Duke.
She graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School in 1962. Beverly married Larry Bastel on October 27, 1978. She worked at Dunn & Bradstreet for over 39 years, retiring in 2004. During retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Larry. Taking trips to Colorado, Florida, and Branson. She especially enjoyed the vacations with her grandson Mark. In addition, she rarely missed any of Mark’s school or sporting events.
She is survived by her sons, Donnie (Shirley) Uhlmer and Steve Uhlmer, Stepsons; John, James, and Stephen Bastel, and grandsons; Mark, Shane, and Sean Uhlmer. Nine siblings; Jim Duke (Donna), Kathy Maxwell, Betty Duke, Patty Basta, Bob Duke, Tom Duke (Jo), Nancy Duke, Mary Jo Duke, Carol Duke, and many nieces, nephews, and great friends.
In addition to her parents Beverly is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Larry Bastel who died in 2013.
Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2017, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Three Rivers Hospice, 700 Branch St, Suite 4, Platte City MO 64079.
