Betty Sue Woods-Buck, 86 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away June 25, 2012 at her home. Funeral services are 10:00 am Friday June 29th at Antioch Community Church, 4805 NE Antioch Road. Burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street. Memorial contributions are suggested to the North Kansas City School District Education Foundation or Antioch Community Church.Sue was born February 22, 1926 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was raised in the Northland and graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1944. After working at William Volker & Co., she married Bill "Willie" Woods in 1946 and became a devoted wife and mother. She was active in all aspects of her children's lives, serving as PTA President and Girl Scout leader. She was the "woman behind the man" and unseen partner in building Bill Woods Ford.After her children were grown, Sue continued to be an active part of the community. She was a Northland Symphony Guild founding member, a recipient of the North Kansas City School District Education Foundation Corner Stone Award, an active member of Antioch Community Church for over 70 years, and volunteer for Head Start Northland. She and her husband, Bill, bought shoes for the Head Start kids every Christmas for over 30 years, as well as hosting an annual Easter Egg hunt at their home.She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Bill Woods, and parents, John S. "Sandy" Duncan and Aileen (Loar) Duncan. Survivors include her husband, Bruce F. Buck, children, Richard D. Woods (Mary Linna), Diane Woods Howard, grandchildren, Duncan W. Woods, Shannon C. Woods, Stacey L. Colaco (Syler), step-grandchildren, Daniel E. Lash, Ryan Lash, Caitlin R. Lash, Carody L. Lash, 1 great grandson, William C. Colaco, and 2 sisters, Margaret Fern Corington and Loretta Jean Talbott (Murl).Sue's family would like to thank her devoted caregivers, Eunice Boateng, Baaba Duah, and Diana Thomas, for caring for Mom during her last year of her life.
