Betty Jane Wilson

Betty Jane Wilson, born September 06, 1924, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 04, 2023. She was a much-loved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Betty is survived by her son Tom Wilson and wife Linda; daughter-in-law Dorothy; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Olive Combs; husband Ray Wilson; and sons John Patrick Wilson and Michael Wilson.

Betty graduated from high school before beginning to work as the head cashier at William United Supermarket. Betty dedicated many years to customer service in this position before retiring.

More than anything else in her life, Betty was devoted to her faith. As a lifelong member of Linden Baptist Church she found many opportunities to give back to others through donating both time and money to food pantries. Betty also sewed dresses and made jewelry for underprivileged children all over the world using her natural talents and creative side.

When she wasn't helping others or working on her hobbies such as painting and crocheting, Betty enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with family at the lake. Her walker was a source of pride full of trophies (AKA stuffed hanging monkeys)  - that she had won over the years. Betty’s holiday decorations were well-known among friends and family who eagerly anticipated each special occasion.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on May 08 at 11:00am at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City MO 64155.

Betty lived a humble life defined by kindness to others. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, warm smile and loving heart. May she rest in peace knowing that the love she gave will continue on in the hearts of those she touched.
