Betty Borgeson

Betty Jo “BJ” Borgeson, daughter of the late Morris Otto James & Genevieve (Cooper) Henningsen, was born on January 28, 1932 in Atwood, Kansas and departed this life on January 12, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri. At the time of her passing she was 86 years of age.

BJ moved to Colby, Kansas at the age of 20. It was in Colby, Kansas where she later met Ralph Borgeson and they were later united in marriage on July 28, 1956 and to this union three children were born, all whom survive her. While Ralph was working for T.W.A, BJ stayed home to raise the children and work longer hours. She loved to bird watch, garden flowers and babysit the dogs. She was a great woman, easy to get to know and hard not to love.

BJ was preceded in passing by her parents and one sister, Veda Nelson. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ralph Borgeson; three children, Doug (Sandy) Borgeson, Tim Borgeson and Jeff (Marcy) Borgeson; two siblings, Patricia Larsen and Cermit (Pat) Henningson; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several other friends and family who will all truly miss her.
