Betty Barclay

Betty Jean (Lewis) Barclay, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away April 23, 2014. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday April 28th at Mount Moriah South Cemetery Chapel of Hope, with visitation preceding services 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Burial in Mount Moriah South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Salvation Army.Betty was born June 13, 1927 in Corning, Iowa to Osa Margaret (Crist) and Truman Vern Lewis. Betty lived a wonderful life, always devoted to her family. She married Frank W. Barclay on March 7, 1945. She truly enjoyed traveling and casino activity. When Frank along with 2 partners founded Christenson Barclay & Shaw Advertising and Public Relations Company, Betty was the head of their bookkeeping department until Frank sold his share of the company. Betty retired at age 46, moving to Scottsdale, Arizona with Frank where they resided for 38 years. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Frank Barclay. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Frank W. Barclay, son and daughter in law, Mark William and Patricia Barclay, 2 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
