Betty Abend

Betty L. Abend, 83, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. She was born June 23, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Leo and Elizabeth (Blanton) Madison.

She met the love of her life, Emil “Chuck” Abend at the airport restaurant, and they were married on April 26, 1956. From this marriage they were blessed with five children. Betty loved taking care of her family and being a support to her husband. She was a talented seamstress and loved cooking big meals for her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Linda (Jeff) Sigler, Darrin (Debra) Abend, David Abend, Doug (Katie) Abend; 10 grandchildren: Jana (Blake) Holmes and their children Eliana and Sienna and “baby Holmes”, Kristin (Matthew) Cox and their children Henry, Heidi, Hudson, Harmonie, Hope, Hatcher and Hartlynn , Jennifer (Emma) Martino-Abend, Andrew (Kim) Sigler and their child “baby Sigler”, Hailee (Preston) Harrelson and their children Duke and Sage, Alex (Jennifer) Abend and their children Autumn and “Baby Abend”, Zachary Loewen and his daughter Charlee, Allyson Abend and her daughter Ember, Noelle Abend, Juliana Abend; sister, Helen Horan; brother, Donald; and many more extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband Chuck, who died earlier this year; son, Darrell; sister-in-law, Cecilia Reardon; sister, Dorothy Madison; brothers James Madison and Aubrey Madison.
