Barbara Norine Wunsch, 95, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on September 17, 2018.
Barbara was born to the late Elijah and Mildred (Williams) Howton on May 6, 1923 in Star City, Arkansas.
Barbara had many hobbies and pastimes, but she especially enjoyed cooking. She and her husband even ran their own food truck sharing her excellent cooking skills with those in her community. She always had a place at her table for someone that needed a meal and they never left her home hungry. She wrote poetry and interspersed her poems with her recipes. She had a great sense of humor. She loved playing the harmonica and she also loved to dance.
She was a long time resident of New Mark Care Center and made many friends with the residents and staff and often played the harmonica for them, as long as she was able.
Barbara and her husband, Leonard Werner Wunsch, were married in 1946. He and her six brothers Fred, Carlyle, Art, Ira, David and Albert, and sister Etta, preceded her in death. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Norine (David) Piet, her two sisters, Nancy Smoot and Retha Ralston, her four grandchildren: Scott Newcomb, Paige Newcomb Witcher (Clint), Sean Newcomb (Cassandra), Lisa Piet Clark (Robert); and her five great grandchildren : MaKensi Drennan. Cade Drennan, Addison Witcher, Eliana Newcomb and Clara Newcomb.
Barbara was a very special and will be missed.
