Barbara A. Simon, 67 of Smithville, died at North Kansas City Hospital on Sunday, May 3, 2015. She was born April 30, 1948 in Kansas City, to the late Virgil and Frances Lopshire.
Barbara worked part-time for K-Mart for many years, she enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and she tolerated going to car shows with Mike; she was always a caring and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. Her favorite job and pastime was being a grandmother; she may have been the proudest grandma in Platte County.
She was the loving wife of nearly 45 years of Mike Simon; they had three children Nick (Kristie) Simon, Kim (Mike) Nelson and Stephanie (Adam) Jones. She was the cherished grandmother of Anna, Ella, Cade, Macy, Jackson, Ava and the yet to be born Lucy. Dear sister of Pamela Sue (Don) Harper, she was a loving aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Fr. Terrell Finnell will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Parish 18601 N. 169 Hwy, in Smithville. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
