Barbara N. Shelton, 84, of Tuscumbia, MO passed away on March 2, 2020.

Barbara was born on December 19, 1935 in Kansas City, KS to Truman and Esther Patterson. As a young girl, her family moved to Tuscumbia where she graduated high school and met the love of her life, James Shelton. Barbara and James were married on April 3, 1954 and from this marriage they had two daughters. After James’ military service, they moved to the Kansas City area where she obtained her cosmetology license and began working in the salon at JCPenney’s until she retired after 18 years. Barbara enjoyed sewing and crocheting, camping, cooking, watching basketball, and spending time with her family. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; brother, LeRoy Patterson; and great grandson, Braxton Meyer. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, James Shelton; children, Brenda (Terry) Scholdberg and Bridget Mehrer; grandchildren, Amy Shoffer, Sam Scholdberg, Samantha Rogers, and Makayla Meyer; great grandchildren, Cooper, Cydney, Emma, Aiden, Reagan, Tatum, and Emmitt; siblings, Omega Vaughan, Sharron Rush, Betty Keeth, and Danny Patterson and sister-in-law, Maggie Patterson.

Funeral services will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Thursday, March 5th at 2:00pm, visitation held one hour prior and burial following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tuscumbia Betterment Committee (2075 Hwy 52, Tuscumbia, MO 65082).
