Barbara Ann Dugan

Barbara Ann Dugan of Kansas City, Missouri, peacefully passed away at home on February 2nd , 2023, with her beloved dogs by her side. She was 84.

She was born May 10, 1938, in the Canadian town of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; the eldest child of the late Gordon and Frances Dawson.
Known not only for her devotion to her family and friends, Barbara was also remarkable for her beauty and unwavering faith. Incredibly kind-hearted, she was beloved by anyone lucky enough to have made her acquaintance. Her congenial nature extended to animals and wildlife as well, often adopting strays and consistently feeding the birds and wild animals near her home.

She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Charlie Dugan, in 2022, her daughter, Nancy Davieaux (Dale) in 2008, and her sister, Dolores Allard (Raymond) in 1981.

Surviving family members include two siblings, Fred Dawson (Valerie), and Dorothy Riauka (Vito), both of Sault Ste. Marie, two daughters, Janet Holm (the late Chris) of North Kingston, Rhode Island and Rebecca Mason (Don) of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren: Christopher (Amanda) and Nicholas (Alanna) Davieaux, Timothy, Alexander, Michael and Brett Mason; and four great-grandchildren: Hannah, Nicholas, Thomas and Norah, and multiple beloved nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Gracemor Christian Church, Disciples of Christ: 5600 NE San Rafael Dr., Kansas City, MO 64119, on Thursday, February 9th, at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to Gracemor Christian Church through their website: www.GracemorChristianChurch.org

Interment of her cremated remains will occur in July, at the West Korah Cemetery located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada in the Dawson family plot.
