B. Earlene McClure, 87, of Kansas City, MO died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at NorthCare Hospice House. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21 at North Cross United Methodist Church. Visitation is from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20 at the church. Memorials in Earlene's name may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc. Earlene was born on August 5, 1923 in Chicago, IL to William and Cassie McCann. She married Robert Leroy McClure on September 10, 1944 in Tulsa, OK. They were blessed with three sons; Jerry, Larry and Chris. She worked at the U.S. State Department in Washington, DC and at Goodrich tire manufacturing plant in Miami, OK during WWII. After this she devoted all of her time to family and volunteering. Earlene was an active member of several organizations to include: TWA Retirees, Missouri Pilots Association, United States Pilots Association, Civil Air Patrol, Aerospace Education Association, Save-A-Connie (now Airline History Museum), Eastern Star and Flying Fez Wives Organization (Ararat Temple), Navy League, Association of Naval Aviation, Saint Andrews Society and Republican Women's Association. She had served as the Parliamentarian for the Clay County Republican Central Committee. Earlene and her husband were founding members of North Cross Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Bob McClure. They graduated from high school together and happily shared 53 years of marriage, 50 year class reunion and the Navy Squadron 50 year reunion. She is survived by son Jerry (and Nancy) McClure of Springfield, MO; son Larry (and Betty) McClure of San Antonio, TX; son Chris (and Carol) McClure of Platte City, MO; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Roberta Rice of Welch, OK and Rene Earle of Kansas City, MO, life-long friend of 80 plus years.Arrangements under the direction of Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 N.W. 108th Street; Kansas City, MO.
