Antonina Elizabeth Heath

Antonina “Nena” Elizabeth Heath, 79, of Liberty, MO passed away peacefully on April 09, 2023. She was born to the late Antonino and Elizabeth Bonfanti on July 25, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York.

Nena’s outgoing personality served her well as a waitress, and serving others via genuine acts of kindness would become the defining characteristic of her life’s mission. She brightened the day for patients of medical providers over the years, officially in various administrative roles, and unofficially as office ambassador. Towards the end of her career, she found renewed energy and great joy through supporting others as a caregiver for Senior Helpers. Her grace and compassion were best reflected in her faith, as a longtime member of Northland Cathedral church located in Kansas City, MO.

Nena never met a stranger, everyone who crossed her path was a friend in the making. Cooking was her love language, which she generously shared with friends and family alike, often hosting dinner parties with her homemade Italian meals as the centerpiece. Nena was a passionate writer whose crowning achievements were two self-published books of faith-based poetry. She took pride in keeping a tidy home and put great personal effort into beautifying her indoor and outdoor spaces.

Nena was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and lifelong friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: B. Lee Heath; sister: Elizabeth Brauer; and brothers: Anthony Bonfanti Jr. and William Bonfanti.

She is survived by her sister: Margaret Frantz; brothers Patrick Bonfanti and Louis Bonfanti; children: Karen Taylor, Toni (Thomas Rys) Carswell, and Jonathan (Heidi) Heath; grandchildren: Adrienne, Pamela, Lisa, Breanna, Shawn, Christian, and Donovan; as well as 17 great grandchildren.
