Anthony James Curtis, a Senior Security Architect for over twenty years, Navy Veteran, and attendee of Emmaus Church in Kansas City, MO, passed away on March 18, 2024.
Tony, as he was known to family and friends, was born on August 17, 1969, in Flint, Michigan. He led a life filled with dedication and perseverance. He was Honorably discharged from the Navy after serving four years fixing radar on military jets. He served in the Navy Reserves after his discharge. Tony earned his Bachelor's Degree and began his career as a Senior Security Architect. He excelled in the world of Information Technology Security and became a valuable asset to all the companies he worked for.
Tony's proudest accomplishments extended beyond his career. He excelled in grappling tournaments in Kansas City, demonstrating his tenacity and skill. His involvement in the Glory Gym Jiu-Jitsu community showcased is passion for martial arts and the camaraderie he shared with others.
Tony was a complex man whose own struggles led him to show genuine compassion and care to those who were hurting. He was strong, caring, and generous, and was a devoted and loving husband, father, and son.
Tony's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his surviving family: his loving wife of 32 years, children, and mother. His friends and colleagues will continue to cherish the moments shared with him.
Services to honor and celebrate Tony's life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetary in Kansas City, MO. A visitation is scheduled for April 6, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Duane Curtis; his son, Andrew James Curtis; and his step-father, Gerry Zimmerman. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Curtis; sons Joel Anthony Curtis and Sean Kelly Curtis; daughter, Tacy Anne-Elizabeth Curtis; unofficially adopted son, Jarod Madison; mother, Aggie Zimmerman; brothers, Adam Curtis and Dustin Curtis, step-brother, Bryant (Kylie) Zimmerman, and Brother-in-Law, Kelly (Steffani) Abercrombie.
