Anna (Annie) Rae Bowring, 80, of Kansas City, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023, with her loving husband by her side.
She was born to the late Ray and Helen Mathews, on October 5, 1942, in Trimble, Missouri. Anna graduated from Smithville High School in 1960.
She married Raymond George Sharp in 1961, and had two daughters. They lived together in Smithville, Missouri until their divorce in 1973. Anna married her soulmate Robert Bowring in 1974 residing together in Kansas City for 49 years. Anna is survived by her husband Robert Bowring and by two children: Cynthia (Kurt) Waier, of Soddy Daisy, TN, and Kristie (Gil) Johnson of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by one grandchild, Raelynn Nicole Johnson.
Anna lived a full life as a wonderful mother and provider to the family working for George C. Brandt Inc., (Distributor of chemicals and containers) retiring after 35 years of faithful service in 2007. She loved to cook, was highly skilled with knitting needles and crochet hooks, and enjoyed her weekly outings to the local pub to unwind with friends and family. A farm girl at heart, gardening was also a passion. Anna loved lake life including fishing, boating with her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Anna loved animals, having many cats and dogs throughout her life including taking in many rescue animals throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to Wayside Waif.
The family would like to thank long-time friend Brenda K. Burchitt. Her friendship meant the world to Anna and her caring touch was a comfort to Anna and a blessing to the family as time got small.
Currently, no service is planned but the family encourages you and celebrate Anna’s life in your own special way. Anna will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
