ALTA N. WEST
Alta West, 87, of Gladstone, MO passed away March 28, 2016. She was born January 30, 1929 to John and Sarah (Bowman) Brown. Alta grew up in Lexington, MO and moved to Kansas City. While in Kansas City, she met and married Frank West and together they spent the last 66 years together in KC where they raised their two daughters. Alta was very active with her family and her grandchildren and loved them all dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings, Mildred Miller, Glenn Brown, Norman Brown, Waneta Nelson, Dorothy Greer, Ennis Brown and Cletus Brown.
Those left to cherish Alta’s memory include her husband Frank; daughters, Gayle (Rick) Rowe and Gaye Christian; 5 grandchildren, Jason Rowe, Andrew (Emily) Rowe, Emily (Neal) Scott, Parker Christian, Sydney Christian; 4 great-grandchildren, Caroline Rowe, Carson Scott, Macy Scott, Owen Scott; 1 sister, Shirley (Don) Calvert and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2016 from 1-2 PM Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Services will follow at 2 PM. Online condolences may be shared at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
