Alissa Jean (Norton) Hermes, 49 of Kansas City, MO fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. She was born March 15, 1967, in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Rosemary and the late Willard “Bill” Norton.
She is survived by her husband Kent Hermes, whom she married January 5, 2001, her dear daughters Elizabeth Jean and Emily Ruth Hermes; Mother Rosemary, brother Craig (Sarah) Norton, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many dear friends
Alissa was very active at Gashland Presbyterian Church, where she freely gave her gift of music and shared her love of Jesus with children; and developed a ministry for children with special needs. She was a talented artist and had a true servant’s heart. She was a graduate of Kansas City North High School, attended William Jewell College and was a volunteer with Transformational Journeys.
Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5:30-8:30 PM at Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian 8029 N. Oak Traffic way; Kansas City, MO. Funeral service will be Saturday, at the church at 10:30 AM with Pastor Ritchey Cable officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
