Alice L. Kauffman, a devoted matriarch and cherished friend, passed away on October 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that resonates with warmth and love. Born on May 4, 1937, Alice spent her life nurturing connections, both with family and with the world around her. She was born and raised in Arkansas and moved to KCK with Gerri when she turned 18 and married on October 11, 1955. She lived a long and prosperous life with her husband, Charles, and together they had two children, Brenda and Robby, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Her family mentions, Alice was the “Best Mom Ever!”
In the quiet corners of her home, one could find her immersed in the heartwarming tales of the Hallmark Channel, lost in the captivating narratives of old Western films, or simply enjoying the serene pastime of fishing. Each of these activities was not just a hobby for Alice—they were windows into moments where her laughter mingled with the gentle lapping of water or the rousing calls of the Kansas City Chiefs, a team she followed with unwavering passion.
Her spirited nature shone brightly through her outdoor explorations, as she embraced the simple joys of life—hunting with respect for nature, cooking delicious meals that brought everyone together, and sharing countless sun-drenched days with her beloved dog, Lucy. The resilience of Alice's spirit was palpable, a testament to her love for life and the vibrant world she cherished.
Perhaps her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the glowing stars in her universe, illuminating her days with laughter, innocence, and boundless energy. Each moment spent with them was a treasure, a memory etched into the very fabric of her being.
Alice's essence will forever linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her love, like the warm autumn sunlight, enveloped all and offered comfort in times of need. As we gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman, we celebrate her life—a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for all that life had to offer.
