Albert L. Harlan, 87, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017, at the Liberty Health and Wellness Center, in Liberty, Missouri. Visitation will be Monday, February 20, 2017 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with the service immediately following at 1:00 PM at Winnwood Baptist Church, 4513 N Jackson Ave, Kansas City, MO 64117. He was born January 17, 1930 in Salisbury, Missouri to Henry and Leona (Prather) Harlan. He graduated from Moberly High School and got his Associates Degree from the Moberly Community College prior to entering and serving in the United States Navy. In April of 1996, Albert retired from Honeywell after 19 years of service. He enjoyed spending time in his flower garden and watching the birds that came to visit. He was a deacon and very active member of Winnwood Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children; Dennis (Beth) Harlan of Valparaiso, IN, Debbie McMullin of Kansas City, MO, Tim Harlan of Kansas City, MO, and Cathie (Jack) Simpson, also of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren; Ian, Connor, Erin, Kevin, Jeff, and Jodi, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Helen of 52 years, grandson Sean McMullin, brother Warren, and his sister Evelyn Painter.
