Alan Parr

Alan Dennis Parr, 56, of Kansas City North, MO passed away peacefully June 27th, 2013 at his home of natural causes. His memorial service will be 6pm, Monday, July 1st at Bethel United Church of Christ, located at 4900 NE Parvin Road, KCMO 64117. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Church of Christ. Dennis was born April 30th, 1957 in Smithville, MO. He was a graduate of Winnetonka High School. He had a long career in transportation with Missouri Pacific Railroad and later with Union Pacific Railroad as a locomotive engineer. He was a proud member and past President of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Division 491.  Dennis was an avid gardener and he also loved to fish and be outdoors. He will be fondly remembered by his friends, coworkers and relatives for his unique sense of humor, love of The Blues and Jazz, and Smithville Lake. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jewell Parr. He is survived by his father, Thomas A. Parr; brother, Thomas S. Parr and wife, Yvonne; nephew, Stephen; niece, Sarah; two amazing daughters, Lauren and Christine; and longtime friend, Janice Livingston.
