Mason A. Clouse, 75, of Smithville, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice House. He was born January 27, 1940 in Kansas City, MO to the late William and Geraldine (Mayhew) Clouse.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Katherine “Kathy” Clouse, his children; William (Brenda) Clouse of Smithville, Stephanie (Dusty) Sharp of Mentone, CA, step-children; Diana (Kevin) Nolan of Liberty, MO, Shawn Hale of Steamboat Springs, CO and Allison (Matt) Swanson of Parkville, MO. He was the cherished grandfather of Kellan, Keaton, Amanda, Shannon, Peyton, Matt, Rush, Avery and Nora; dear brother of Sharron (Gary) Smith of Lawson, MO; nephew of Mildred Lang of Odessa, MO; he was also an uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Mason, graduated from Park Hill High School in 1958. He loved the outdoors, playing cards, pitching horse shoes, going to garage sales, swap-n-shops and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9272. He was a Member of the 4th Degree Monsignor Wogan Assembly, past faithful Navigator and member of the Honor guard. He was a member and past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM Sheffield. He was a member of the Abdallah Shrine, where he always looked forward to taking the children to the Shriners Hospital in St. Louis. He was a retired Hunter Education Instructor, he retired after 37 years of service as a member of Teamsters Local 41, he worked for Roadway Trucking for more than 29 of those years.
Visitation will be Friday, November 27, 2015 from 6-8 PM, with a Rosary service at 8 PM at Good Shepard Parish 18601 N. Hwy 169, Smithville, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 AM at the Church. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 4400 Clayton Ave. St. Louis, MO 63110 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
